Simply put, you root your phone to add customizations that your phone manufacturer has not provided (or remove those you don't want that make your phone slow). These customizations often improve both your experience and the performance of the phone, but mileage varies from phone to phone. One can select from a customized versions of the ROM provided by your manufacturer with bloatware removed, or versions based off where developers build android versions from the latest source that Google provides for your phone that are not provided by your manufacturer.

Magisk allows for advanced management of Superuser access rights for all the apps on your device that need root. Magisk has been built from the ground up to counter a number of problems with other superuser access management tools. Features include: Superuser access prompt, Superuser access logging, Superuser access notifications, Per-app notification configuration, and more.

Xposed Framework

Xposed is a framework for modules that can change the behavior of the system and apps without touching any APKs. As a result, modules can work for different versions and even ROMs without any changes (as long as the original code was not changed too much). It's also easy to undo. As all changes are done in the memory, you just need to deactivate the module and reboot to get your original system back. Note that the Xposed Framework and Modules work only with ROOT access.

Customized Stock ROMs

Stock ROMs are the default ROM and software that is provided by your phone manufacturer which you see when you use your phone. Most manufacturers load the ROM with vendor specific software which looks great but has low utility (bloatware). Customized versions of Stock ROMs give you the option of deleting bloatware along with adding other customizations to the ROM which your manufacturer does not provide. Manufacturers generally stop providing updates to Stock ROMs about 2 years after the release date of the phone.

LineageOS ROMs

LineageOS is an open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code. It is developed as free and open source software based on the official code released by Google, with added original and third-party code. It is based on a rolling release development model. LineageOS offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by mobile device vendors. Custom ROMs

SlimRom, ParanoidAndroid, OmniRom, ResurrectionRemix, LiquidsmoothRom, etc are variants of the AOSP code. Each have their own development philosophy, and developer community developing the ROM for select Android phones and tablets. They mix and match features that they like from other ROMs to create a version that they find their user community will appreciate. They provide a consistent look and feel across devices regardless of original manufacturer, and often even focus on performance improvements to the system user interface.

All data and downloads are from xda-developers forums. We don't develop any of them and hence don't take responsibility for them. But we do extensive research on the forum before recommending or installing any customizations and all our customers are very happy with their modifications. We've never had to restore anyone back to their stock ROM.

Our Work Process

1. Research

Research on XDA-Developers community for steps to root the phone and apply customizations. Download all required files and processes, along with files to restore back to stock ROM.

2. Root

Phone must first be rooted before anything else can be done.

3. Customize

Install Custom Stock ROM AND/OR Custom ROM AND/OR Modification as requested by customer.

4. Deliver

Return your phone. Help you understand what's new.

What our customers are saying.

Rajesh PatilOnePlus 5

My new OnePlus 5 was getting really slow. I came across RootMyAndroid through some friends, so had someone to vouch for their service. Even though I had never met them, I took the risk of giving them the phone overnight. I got it back as promised - custom Stock ROM (since I still like OxygenOS from OnePlus) but with many more features. This was in Oct 2017 and the phone is working amazingly even today. Thanks RootMyAndroid.

Rekha MehtaOnePlus 3

OnePlus has slowed down support for the OP3. I was not ready to give up the OP3 yet. I first gave my phone to update to ResurrectionRom based version of Nougat. I even paid extra for the Viper4Android sound modification, and it was completely worth every paise that I spent. The ROM is very stable for everyday use and there is great community support. I've even installed some amazing themes with Substratum. My OP3 just got a big life extension and features that make it really cool! Hoping to get Oreo on my phone soon.

Your warranty will become void!

Rooting your phone will void your phone's warranty. If your phone is more than 1yr old, the warranty will have expired anyway. If your phone is less than 1yr old, then the risk is yours to take. Read the Opening Post (OP) of your customization's forum page for details, what works and what doesn't. Ask us if you have questions. However, your phone can easily be restored back to its Stock ROM in case you want to revert back to what your manufacturer originally provided you.

All Root mods and customizations are from XDA-Developers Community.

We are NOT ROM developers. We do not take responsibility for the performance of your phone after rooting or installing mods and custom ROMs. However, rest assured that there is a strong community behind every customization and modification who are only trying to make it improve user experience and without compromising performance. You can search for customizations on your own and read about them on the forums. However, if you don't follow the right procedure, you will make your phone un-useable! We have the technical expertise to do what is required, which is the service we provide.

You are responsible for your own data backup and restore.

Full data backup must be done by yourself before we root/mod your phone. We will not restore any settings, apps or app settings whatsoever. We do not take responsibility for any loss of data or settings. Why? Because copying settings over from one Android ROM to another causes things to crash, and is neither recommended nor advisable. And users preferences vary. You can backup your contacts, downloads, music, photos and videos to your own computer with Airdoid (Wifi network required), your SMS with SMS Backup and Restore, backup apps with Titanium Backup or Rom Toolbox and restore at your risk later. Restoring apps is generally OK. Restoring system settings is extremely risky!

Your experience will vary with each custom ROM and phone.

Depending on the ROM, some software from your manufacturer may not work with custom ROMs. Please read the relevant XDA-Developers forum for what works and what does not for your selected custom ROM. For example, in custom ROMS for Motorola smartphones, dual SIMs don't work. In LineageOS ROMs for Samsung smartphones, Touchwiz apps including Samsung Camera and FM Radio don't work. There are always alternatives to these vendor specified apps in the Playstore

When in doubt, ask!

We do a lot of research before installing the most popular, most active and well supported ROM for your phone. Ask questions if you are not sure what something means. Ideally, we prefer if you give us the phone overnight so that we can test it a bit before giving it back. We don't need your SIM during this period. We also request you to reset your gmail ID and password and give it to us, so that we can install some apps from the Playstore and test it. We request you to trust our judgement in giving you the right ROM based on your preferences.

Giving back to the XDA-Developers.

Currently, this service is for Mumbai residents only. Our charges are Rs. 500/- per visit regardless of if you want to only root your phone AND/OR install a custom Stock ROM AND/OR install a custom ROM. Anything less than this rate is not worth the time we put in for the research. Every phone has its own challenges. In case you request for a custom ROM, we would request you to download the ROM on your own (will provide the link) since our bandwidth is low. Note that modifications like Viper4Android and the Xposed Module attract extra Rs. 500/- charges as additional testing is required to ensure that they work. In the end, 25% of our proceeds go back to those contributing to the XDA-developers forums , so we are actively encouraging more development for your smartphone and the next one to come.
